Chocolate Story Book looks to keep the Cinderella “Story” going as it takes on BBQ Sauce Stud, Cookies. Chocolate Story Book offers Gifts of Good Taste and Cookies claims to have the Best Barbeque Sauce on the Planet. We think they’re both right. Is it dinner or dessert? BBQ Sauce or Chocolate with an unknown cream in the middle?
Barilla is The Choice of Italy – but is it the choice of Iowa? Everything from pasta to sauces. But what if you want to spice up the meal a bit? Sure thing. Just down the road, Tones Spices, which is about as old as Paul Lessing has been cranking out choice spices like Garlic Powder, Basil Leaf and Italian Seasoning for a century plus. So, are you voting for the meal or the spices that make a meal even better? Tough call.
Got Milk? I’ve heard stories about Iowans that come back for a visit with a cooler just to bring back Anderson Erickson products home with them. We’re trying to confirm the rumor that Blue Bunny uses AE milk in some of their products. Maybe that’s why it tastes so good! Quite the tasty match-up here. Regardless, when it’s all said and done, someone will be crying over spilled milk.
Pizza Ranch. The mere mention of the name makes some salivate. Whether it’s the pizza itself or the best piece of fried chicken you’ve ever had. Yes, it’s that good. Happy Joe’s? This stuff is so good they even make Canadian bacon and sauerkraut on pizza taste good. Not to mention the ice cream. Birthday cake flavored ice cream? Yes indeed! What are you hungry for?
Simply put, Maid-Rite is “Serving sandwiches that are satisfying!” Someone on their Web site claims if you haven’t had a Maid-Rite loose meat sandwich, you haven’t lived. They’re on the money with that. But a tough match-up here against B-Bops. The food and the service is too good to call this fast food. You can have your McDonald’s and Burger King, people drive out of their way for the old school experience and great taste of B-Bops.
Battle of the Booze! Templeton Rye and Tassel Ridge Winery also can boast about some of the bigger Twitter followings of any companies in Iowa. (@TasselRidge – @TempletonRye) Both brands do it right when it comes to engaging and interacting with their customers so don’t think it’s an accident we matched these two together. Whisky vs. Wine. Pass us a glass of each please! After business hours of course…
Got Meat? The Iowa Pork Producers make sure Iowa has some of the best pork on the planet. And we do, by a landslide. Fareway has arguably the best meat of any grocer in town, plus they’re a grocery store that offers the small town feeling you don’t get at Hy-Vee or Dahl’s. So do you go with the snouts or the guys with the cute little white hats?
HyVee‘s helpful smile in every aisle vs. Dahl’s Foods – your hometown grocer since 1931. Chinese Buffet at HyVee or the eighth wonder of the world – “Inger-Dahls” – grab your cart, your hand sanitizer wipes and meet us in the produce section.
