And now finally, the event that you have been waiting for all year, Lessing-Flynn is proud to announce the 2012 Battle of the Brands. It’s bigger, it’s better and it’s brandier than it’s ever been yet. (Yes, brandier is a word–you can do that in advertising).
This year’s Lessing-Flynn Battle of the Brands has a little bit of everything. 15 of the Sweet 16 Brands from last year return. Those brands include: AE Dairy, John Deere Financial, KCCI, Valley Junction, Jethros, Tasty Tacos, Hy-Vee, University of Iowa, Iowa Farm Bureau, Iowa State Fair, Kum & Go, Meredith, Dwolla, Volunteer Local, Shoplr and Tikly.

We’re also bringing back the tech-startups with help from our friends at Silicon Prairie News. There will be eight tech-startups looking to not only advance, but to let you know about the great things they are working on.
The field is set and with a play-in game that includes local favorites G&L Clothing vs. Badowers. Voting for the play-in game begins July 9th with the field of 64 voting starting on July 11.
This year we’ll also be using this platform to support the winning brand’s charity. We’ll release more details on this as the field narrows.
