Meet Kathleen — LF’s Media Intern

Growing up, my mom thought I would either become an actor (because I was a drama queen) or a lawyer (because I loved to argue with her). To her surprise, I actually went on to Central College for a business management degree with an emphasis in marketing and a minor in entrepreneurship. Now, I get to use my competitive mindset to help push whatever group I’m a part of to the top — I’ve have turned my drama into passion.

My love for music followed me to school. I’m a member of the Central College A Cappella Choir, Chamber Singers, and the Second Reformed Church Choir. My favorite music to sing is without a doubt gospel. This girl can get down to some Moses Hogan. In January, I also decided to begin taking private voice and piano lessons. So, if you need someone to play a beginner’s level “Jingle Bells” or “Happy Birthday,” I’m your girl.

In my Lessing-Flynn interview, I was asked to describe myself in one word. Naturally I said, “Grandma.” I have a deep love for baking, going to bed before 10 p.m., my kitten Peaches, board games, fun socks and crossword puzzles (even though I’m actually very bad at them). I even joined the Central College bridge club last year. I have learned to appreciate the good, slow parts of life just as much as the rush of putting together a new project.

I am thrilled to be at LF to experience all that an ad agency has to offer. I will be graduating in December 2017, so I’m excited to continue to discover what career path I want to take. Lessing-Flynn has already shown me that they are filled with good people who push each other to be their best selves and to be innovators in their fields. For now, the only word I’ll use to describe how I feel is simply grateful.
