Meet Paris Solsma — LF’s New Project Manager

Growing up on a farm in Northwest Iowa, I was instilled with the work ethic of a hog farmer and the creative genius of a veterinarian pharmaceutical sales rep. Raised amidst countless 4-H projects and country music, I spent my summers wrangling unruly goats, baking cupcakes in the kitchen and practicing my next Bill Riley Talent Show performance for the O’Brien County Fair and Iowa State Fair.

With a family and friend group full of Cyclones, many were surprised when I went against the grain to attend the University of Iowa. At Iowa, I studied as a communication studies major with the addition of two minors: entrepreneurial management and music. My love for music landed me in a collegiate A cappella group (yes, it was just like the movie Pitch Perfect), emceeing a 24-hour Dance Marathon fundraising event and at a digital marketing agency in Nashville, Tennessee for a summer internship.

A good friend once wrote to me: “You are an innovator in a world of stagnation.” I believe in unique lyrics, socks that don’t match and new food experiences (trust me, beaver is quite delicious). I’ve always loved surrounding myself with creative people to seek new ideas together. After graduating in May 2016, I was bound and determined to find a work environment that cherished entrepreneurial thinking and wasn’t afraid to color outside the lines. Lessing-Flynn won my heart with its roster of enthusiastic coworkers that know how to solve any problem and have fun while doing it.

I’m excited to jump in, get rolling and make an impact with LF, and hey — maybe even start a new band? Rumor has it Chris Hanson plays the piano and Joel Clifton can play a mean guitar. Stay tuned for potential tour dates of The Flynnies — ha!
