As we’ve mentioned in previous posts, the winning brand of this years’ Lessing-Flynn‘s Battle of the Brands will receive $5,000 worth of our time to support one of their favorite charities. We asked each of the final four brands which charity they are supporting and why. Here are the final four brands and their charities in their own words. You’ll find the voting link and other details at the bottom of the post.

The Brand: The Iowa State Fair The Charity: The Food Bank of Iowa
Their work helps meet the most basic of needs for Iowans of all ages. It’s a mission that ties in with the Fair’s roots in agriculture and livestock production. We partnered with the Food Bank of Iowa for a food drive in 2009. Also, all of the canned goods from the Canstruction sculptures on display during the Fair are donated to the Food Bank.
The Brand: Hy-Vee The Charity: Character Counts In Iowa
Hy-Vee is excited to be in the Final Four of the Battle of the Brands. Our chosen charity is Character Counts In Iowa, because it so closely aligns with our “Commitment to the Community” statement, which spells out our goal to extend the “helpful smile in every aisle” to the neighborhoods we serve. Hy-Vee’s corporate giving focuses on the support of organizations that provide for the physical, emotional, educational, cultural enhancement and well-being of children.
AE Dairy would like to benefit Youth Homes of Mid-America through our involvement in Battle of the Brands. Our community involvement of 81 years continues to focus on youth and education. This organization offers structured programs for youth with behavioral, emotional and educational difficulties and equips them with important life skills.
