Moving Places, New LF Faces

This year has proved to be monumental for our team, our office and our clients! In May, we got some sweet new digs in the East Village, which brought a ton of excitement and continues to provide more space for our team to spread their wings. At long last, we now have room to be even more creative, more collaborative and hustle to do what it takes to make great things happen for our clients. This has led to new opportunities, amazing client growth, as well as opportunities to grow the team.

In this business, building relationships is what it’s all about, so we take great care to hire, grow and work with people who have a passion for smart, creative thinking to bring our clients results. By building and developing a talented team, creating a culture conducive to never-ending imaginations and seeking new tools and ideas that challenge the status quo, we’re setting ourselves up for continued success in the future.

So, without further ado, meet our newest Flynnies below — and the next time you’re in the East Village, be sure to swing by and say hello! We have parking for you!

Meet Kali Andersen — Account Manager

From the state of 10,000 lakes, it should come as no surprise that I came to Iowa on a swimming and diving scholarship at Iowa State University. After graduating with a double-major in marketing and management, I met my husband and moved to Madrid, Iowa, where our family has grown by three — Ella, Wyatt and Vivi.

With three kids that would rather die than sit still, we tend to spend a lot of time outdoors. You can find us biking on the High Trestle Trail bridge, swimming, boating and running off any energy left over at the park. When I get some “me time” I like to run, attend a hot yoga class or attempt the occasional Pinterest craft.

I am looking forward to learning all about Lessing-Flynn’s clients and applying my skills and direct mail experience. While it’s hard not to get overly excited with so many new marketing channels to manage, I’ll try my best to play it cool and let it all sink in! Wish me luck.

Meet Cassandra Pudenz — Account Manager

I love the marketing and advertising community and all the different experiences they offer — there’s always something to learn or a new industry to explore. If you ever get bored with marketing you’re doing it wrong.

When I’m not busy with my duties as the president elect for the AMA Iowa, I’m serving on the board of directors for the Des Moines Social Club, or sitting in as the chair of the Young Alumni Advisory Board for the UNI College of Business Administration (go Panthers!). Coming from a small town in Iowa, I’ve truly enjoyed living in the greater Des Moines community and getting involved with all the city has to offer. Shows, events, restaurants, volunteering — you name it, and I’ve tried it or I want to. Luckily my husband Joe and son Abraham love a good adventure as well.

Just as I love to stay busy outside of the office, when I’m at work I’m ready to roll! I’m looking forward to putting together and executing strategic, multi-channel marketing plans and campaigns for my LF clients and I can’t wait to conquer the challenges ahead.

Meet Jeremy Jones — Art Director

As a Norwalk native, when it came time for college I decided to venture out of state for both a football and graphic design scholarship at Dana College in Nebraska. With a successful football career and two bachelor degrees (graphic design and fine arts), I made the most of my experience before coming back to my home state. Fresh out of college I worked for a printer doing graphic design and learning the print industry before I made a shift into the agency world and never looked back — that was 20 years ago! As one of the new LF Art Directors, I’m extremely excited to work on a team with such a talented staff to continue producing quality design for our huge range of clients.

When I’m not creating cool things at work, I love to spend time with my wife Carly, three step-children and three dogs. Our oldest, Mary, attends college at University of Iowa, while our younger sons Jonny and Jack attend Dallas-Center Grimes. Life is good and it keeps getting better!

Meet Angela Johnston — Art Director

I’m a fitness-loving, concert-going, meal-prepping, Koo Koo Kanga Roo-dancing, Tech N9ne-jamming, Eminem-rapping, Go Ruck-challenging, tractor-playing mom and passionate designer. I moved to Des Moines after high school to attend Grand View University and fell in love with this growing city. I love my crazy little family with Jason, his two girls, Syanne and Kheera, and my son Marshall. When I’m not working on the latest design project, I can be found on a patio, playing sand volleyball, brainstorming concepts for local band music videos or taking photos!

I could not be more thrilled to join the amazing team at Lessing-Flynn. I look forward to stirring things up, making new work friends and learning all about our clients. Creativity is like my air and I’m ready to take a deep breath in!

Meet Maggie Jennett — Project Manager

Following in the Jennett family footsteps, I attended Iowa State University where I graduated with a degree in journalism and mass communication. While there, I held internships with many organizations, including the Iowa Pork Producers Association, Meredith Agrimedia, Bader Rutter and more. These experiences lead me here to Lessing-Flynn’s doorstep and I can’t wait to grow my skills and share my strengths.

As a Southwest Iowa, farm girl, I knew right away that I would feel at home in my first “big girl job” with LF and their extensive ag clientele. My family has been raising pigs and chickens and growing corn and soybeans for almost 50 years, so being able to assist clients that ultimately help my family feels like the perfect fit. I love environments where talented people challenge me to continuously learn, and I can’t wait to see where this new adventure takes me!

Meet Preston Poots — Project Manager

My favorite thing about advertising and marketing is planning and setting strategic goals. After graduating from Iowa State with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural education, I worked as a training specialist at Ag Leader Technology (hey, LF knows them!) before gaining agency experience with FLM+. I am beyond excited to join the Lessing-Flynn team and I can’t wait to continue to network with talented people across the industry help clients reach goals and exceed expectations. I know my strong agricultural background in beef and row crop production will be put to good use.

When I’m not at work, I’m spending time on my family farm working with cattle, running half marathons or watching Iowa State athletics.
